Church is good

Dear Sister Payne and Elder Payne,
Happy Sunday!  I hope you enjoyed your day very much.  I did.  Each day is not perfect, but I am trying to find joy in each day.  I hope your week is great.  I look forward to visiting on Wednesday.
Love,
Dad

We went back to Church today, and it was wonderful.  Mark was the only speaker in our sacrament meeting.  He shared a great talk on the Atonement of Jesus Christ.  I noticed early this evening that I felt really good.  I think it is because we were able to meet together as a ward.  I am looking forward to joining again as a full ward and being able to participate in Sunday School and EQ lessons, especially when we can do so without wearing masks.

I was up until 1:00 this morning cleaning the kitchen then taking a shower to get the sawdust, alfalfa hay, goat poop, etc. off my skin and out of my hair.  So I slept in until 9:00 this morning.  That felt sort of nice, but sort of lazy.  The day, however, was really nice.  We had hot cereal for breakfast and everyone ate together.  We were on time for Church.  After lunch we did an activity talking about the "three pillars of eternity" and reading scriptures from Alma 9-12, this week's Come, Follow Me reading.

Dinner was excellent.  While we ate we watched a fireside from BYU for a music event that Spencer is participating in this week. It was really good.  The speaker shared lots of stories about music and composers and the good that they did.  We like it a lot.  Following the fireside about music we sang hymns together, then had zucchini chocolate cake with fresh raspberries.  That was also delicious.  I would have had more, but I was still full from dinner.

Thankful: I am thankful that we are starting back to Church.  I hope we can get through this "yellow" phase quickly and get to a new, good "normal."

Ministering: I am going to count vicarious ministering today.  While I served my family by fixing meals, cleaning the kitchen, reading stories, etc., Mark followed a prompting and ministered to some families in our ward.  Julie took some cake to Sis. Swensen in the ward to wish her happy birthday.

More later…

A favorite photo from the archives with one of my favorite people at one of my favorite places.  That's a lot of favorites!
